Prom Week: Summery, Pink Smokey Eye

June 12, 2017

So as Prom season hits (sorry if I've missed yours btw, they just so happen to coincide with exam season!), I am going to be posting every single day this week with different prom looks of all colours, styles and difficulty levels.

Anywho, we're starting off this week with a colourful pink look, perfect for black, pastel and metallic dresses.

1) Transition Colour

Using a matte pale pink shade (I used shade 4 in the Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette in Iconic 3) I applied this through my crease on a blending brush.

2) Main Shimmer Colour

Using the same palette, but the 5th shade (a sparkly pink), I applied this all over the lid to add some glam to the look. Apply on the lower lash line as well.

3) Inner Corner Highlight

Using Honey Lust by Mac in their Burgundy Times Nine Palette (a pale gold shimmer), highlight the inner corner.

4) Smoke it out

Using the 12th colour from the Makeup Revolution palette (a dark sparkly purple), apply into the outer third/V of the ad add as little or as much as you would like depending on how intense you want to go. Again, add to the bottom lashline and round the outer corner of the eye to meet the purple on the lid, to intensify the look. To smoke out the look further, you could add a black pencil liner to the waterline.

5) Finish

Add mascara, eyeliner if you want (I didn't, to keep it lighter and more smokey instead of bold and graphic) before completing with your normal brow and face routine. A nude lip would work best with this, though if you have kept it on the lighter side, experiment with a red lip because that might also work. In terms of blush and contour, a bronzer cheek would probably work better to avoid there being too many pink tones going on across the whole face.

I hope you enjoyed the first in this Prom series and I'll see you back here tomorrow for the next one!
